Purdue University 1995 Swine Research Reports. Water pollution is a major public issue. State and federal regulation have effectively reduced most point source pollution. Nonpoint source (NPS) pollution, which includes small farms has only recently been targeted for regulatory action. This research attempts to provide operators with another tool that may be employed in certain cases to address NPS pollution from swine operations.
