Implementing Production and Financial Standards Into an Adult Curriculum
The Pork Business Management Program started with a grant from the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). The grant defined a relationship between the South Central Technical College (SCTC) and NPPC that created a Farm Business Management (FBM) Program for pork producers. Students enrolled in the program would receive traditional FBM curriculum instruction as well as instruction on implementing the NPPC Production and Financial Standards. The Production and Financial Standards implementation is delivered using a customized training model and allows the program instructional delivery flexibility. The students cost for the Pork Business Management Program varies based on annual pig production. Students will pay between $1200 and $2000 annually to enroll in the program.
