Wean to Finish Advantages and Implications a Case Study
This study was conducted in a commercial pork production system located in central Missouri. The purpose of this study was to determine the performance and health effects of production system types. For this study pigs were weaned into the same facility where they stayed until they were marketed (wean-to-finish). The growth performance of these pigs was then compared to a contemporary group that was weaned into a conventional nursery and then moved into a grow/finish facility located on the same site and identical to the facility utilized as the wean-to-finish facility.
